Peter King Defends Tim Tebow

*I guess Tim Tebow was Den's 4th-best QB when he led Broncs to 24-second-half pts and 24-23 win over Houston.

*There's no 3rd QB rules anymore. If coaches can't find a role for Tebow in their offense, Den must be more explosive than 80s Niners.

*Last Tebow point: Don't get me wrong; I'm not advocating he start over Orton. I'm saying he should have a package of Wildcat/option plays.

-- Peter King on Twitter, about Tim Tebow in the wake of Michael Silver's piece about Tebow being a 4th-stringer and this morning's comments from Boomer Esiason.

Comments: Agree 100% with the first tweet. Agree 100% with the second tweet. Agree 100% with the third tweet. All things we've been saying here for a year.

  1. I'm curious to see at what point coaches, analysts, a broad segment of the sports media, and all the arm-chair Monday morning quarterbacks will realize that there is vastly more proof that Tim can play than there is proof that he can't. The outcome of real game time situations is the true measure of any athlete.

If these guys were right, why was Tom Brady a 6th round draft pick? Why was Tom Brady ever backing up Drew Bledsoe? Couldn't the coaches see his potential?

Apparently, TT was only successful in college because he played on the best team with the best players. Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't the best team with the best players usually the team that wins championships?

  2. Denver hasn't even played their 3rd PRESEASON game & look at all the controversy swirling around Tim. Tebow's always in the eye of the hurricane, it seems.
