Must-See: Tebow Mic'd Up

Take 6 minutes and watch this incredible footage of Tim Tebow mic'd up by NFL Network during Sunday's win over Houston. Some awesome stuff there. (h/t: OGGOA)

  1. That clip is great. It's also going to be on the NFL Network's Sound FX show at 3:30am, 3:30pm, & (maybe?) 9:30pm Eastern on Thurs 12/30.

  2. Did anyone hear Steve Young taking about Tebow today on sportscenter? I heard he said some great things about Tebow.. something about "witnessing greatness". Can't find the video segment anywhere on ESPN.

  3. I watched some of this last night with my husband. Had to do my best to keep from swooning and smiling too big. My God, I'm so proud Timmy.

  4. I am so proud of Tim and I have watched the video multiple times. I hope NFL will put a microphone on Tim in his every game.

Good luck to TT on Sunday against SD. Go Broncos.

  5. It's funny to me how the internet is flooded with quotes from dooshes like Kiper and McShay bashing Tebow but when Steve Young calls Tebow "greatness" I can't find it anywhere.

Same thing happened when Gruden, Dungy and Lou Holtz said he should be a top 5 pick.

Dan, do you have any ESPN peeps that can get that Steve Young clip?

  6. Thanks for the info, Charlie. Sometimes ESPN will also put up vids of theirs on youtube. You might also try asking people at the other Tebow sites & Facebook groups if they know anything about that. Tim's been compared to Steve Young often, so I'd like to know about that, too.

  8. This is a comment from another site where someone saw the Steve Young clip.. gotta see this.. You would think ESPN would be having Steve Young repeating this everywhere.. but nope.. just the haters.

"Steve Young just called Tebow "Greatness we are watching"
He basically all but guaranteed Tebow will be great, win a lot of games, and will change the position as we know it. When asked about Tebow his first response was "Tim Tebow is greatness" and if someone builds on the offense we are running with him he would be the only guy to run this "new" scheme and thus become great with his unique skill set whether is running or passing the bowl."

  9. @Charlie: Now I REALLY want to see that clip.

    Happy New Year everyone. :)

  10. I't so annoying.. can't fund it anywhere. It may be possible he had second thoughts or something.. like he didn't realize it was Houston's defense or something. Maybe that is why Steve Young hasn't repeated it? But I would be more apt to believe ESPN is burying it like any other positive stuff said about Tebow.

Happy New Year to you Brooke, and everyone!

  11. I was watching ESPN on sunday morning before the game and they were talking about the game and when one announcer mentioned Tebow the other announcer started mocking him going "Tebow Tebow Tebow" and as they cut to commercial he said "and we'll be right back to the Tim Tebow Show on the Tim Tebow network after a short break" I wanted to punch him through the TV!

  12. "I wanted to punch him through the TV!"

    I know the feeling. LOL.

  13. It's so weird how ESPN hypes LeBron and Kobe and Tiger Woods like they are gods.. even Cam Newton.. but I have always felt they have hyped Tebow as an athlete sarcastically.

Maybe it's a compliment somehow.. like Tebow is the only one that REALLY deserves hype.. which is why when they actually do it, it seems like gushing, because hyping Tebow is redundant.

Unlike the other guys he really doesn't need hyping.. because he actually IS greatness. I bet the same would be true of Michael Jordan in this even more media saturated era, too.

  14. I have no doubt Tim Tebow will be a great NFL quarterback as pointed out by Steve Young but he needs a good team and coaches to support him.I worry that the media hype over Tim will cause strong resentment among his teammates and other NFL players and they will resort to dirty play.
I always say a prayer every time he plays to keep him safe.

  15. Tebow does need support from his teammates. No question there. No one has ever won without that. But He is incredibly unique because of his freakish almost superhuman skill set..

Because of this he gives his team a truly unfair advantage. With Tebow it is literally like having 2 other guys on his offense. The only way to match it is to get another Tebow. And right now there aren't any. I don't think Cam Newton is either honestly. Same with Vick. Tim has durability Vick doesn't and Tim has skill, durability and passing talent Cam doesn't. I think Cam's height is a liability running the ball.

This is what I think Steve Young is saying here.. he sees the same thing. The tools Tim has are unmatchable right now. To compete other QBs are going to have to try to play more like Tebow.. and THEY will get knocked out of the game before he does.
