Broncos Tebow: NOW Can He Play?

At the risk of repeating myself: NOW can Tim Tebow play?

The season is lost. The only thing Josh McDaniels has going for himself is to show some kind of innovative, entrepreneurial mindset that would give Broncos owner Pat Bowlen -- to say nothing of Broncos fans -- reasons to bring him back next year.

In other words: McD has nothing to lose by changing things up. He has nothing to lose by playing Tim Tebow. If anything, it would make the team must-see, in an otherwise lost season.

So why wouldn't he?

  1. This goes back to the big question—why take Tebow in the first place?

Was it because the *Broncos* wanted Tebow, or because *McDaniels* thought he could make something of Tebow?

  2. I'm really starting to wonder about that question. To begin with I thought it was a combination of both, now I really can't decide.

Furthermore, recent comments from McDaniels on whether Tim will see more playing time are quite alarming. I'd have hoped Tim's progress would make it increasingly hard for him to be left out, especially when you factor in how the team's performance begs for it.

  3. Here's what Tebow fans should hope for: If McDaniels is ultimately fired, the Broncos should hire Jon Gruden, who worked with Tim pre-draft and believes Tim has the makings of a NFL star QB. Gruden would make a concerted effort to develop Tim instead of drafting another 1st round rookie QB. That is, if Gruden wants to coach a developing team as opposed to a more established Cowboys or Vikings team.

  4. Chuckie with a Rocky Mountain high? I love it! Kyle, that's genius.

  5. McDaniels relieved of his duties. Sigh.

  6. Why won't McDaniels play Tebow now? P-R-I-D-E. If Tebow succeeds like his rookie QB peers then McDaniels is admitting that he's been wrong for sidelining Tim for so long...

  7. (imho)Two big problems with the Broncos-1 owner is quite ill with something that requires radiation treatments (rumor only) and by his own admission-memory lapses and 2-owner is cash poor. So no Gruden even in 2012 when owner would only be paying one ex-coach plus Gruden-I don't think he has the money and he's not running the show anyway. There isn't a single soul with any prior football knowledge of any kind between the absent owner and McDaniels, below him both coordinators are promoted line coaches. Tim's being coached by McDaniels' younger brother with zero college or NFL experience. I think Tim was the dream QB that McD could create. The Bronco have/had bigger needs in the trenches, Tim was their 4th QB. I don't know if McDaniels thinks Tim hasn't progressed or his "creation" will only be revealed when perfect. And I was so happy when they drafted Tim. To Coaches Gruden and Dungy-please coach a team and rescue Tim.
