Broncos Tebow: How Soon No. 2?

The question feels like a formality, because it is inevitable: How quickly is Tim Tebow "officially" promoted to the 2nd-string quarterback role for the Broncos?

Here's why this question is a bit of a straw man: Tebow was ALWAYS going to be elevated to No. 2, if only so Josh McDaniels could use him as a change-of-pace QB during the game.

(That Brady Quinn doesn't look good enough to be the 2nd-best QB on the team anyway -- regardless of the strategic imperative of making Tebow "QB2" -- is another story.)

  1. Dan, I agree with your premise that he was always going to be the number two. I think it becomes official after two more pre-season games. i don't think there is any doubt he out performed Quinn in the first game. The veterans on the team will need to see that a few more times. Once the veterans believe he is better then Quinn and it is not just a gimmick, it will be smooth sailing for McDaniel to make it official.

  2. Tim being 2nd is a bit up in the air right now. He left practice very early w/the head trainer today. He might be injured.
