Brand Tebow: Home Run Derby

OK, so in that local Memphis story about Tebow's workouts, maybe the best detail WAS the baseball stuff -- the story of Tim Tebow going to a local high school team's BP and smacking 12 of 15 pitches for home runs.

Yahoo's Big League Stew baseball blog loves that story -- so do I. (To echo: Where's the video?! COME ON!)

I'm not saying there will be some kind of Michael Jordan moment 10 years from now, where we see Tebow playing minor-league baseball. But it certainly offers an interesting "what if?"

  1. I read in an article that Urban Meyer wasn't completely sold on Tebow until he went and watched him play highschool baseball.

Meyer didn't go into details but I can kind of imagine what it must be like. You can probably see Tebow's passion and athleticism more in that setting because as a Qb you have to be so focused all the time.

  2. I either read or saw Urban say that what convinced him about Tim was seeing him in the dugout during the baseball game. His intensity, his leadership, etc. I'd also like to see the home runs. :)

  3. I'd love to see the video of Timmy hitting home runs.

I read somewhere that Tim's dad was originally hoping that he'd go down the baseball path, rather than football. Because baseball tends to have a longer career. But Tim chose football.
