NFL Tebow: Bills, Pats, Redskins, Browns, Seahawks

Tim Tebow has private workouts scheduled with the Bills, Patriots, Redskins, Browns and Seahawks -- more likely to come.

The Redskins have the 5th pick of the 2nd round, the Browns have the 6th, the Bills have the 9th. The Seahawks have two 1st-round picks, neither of which I predict will be used on Tebow, and a late-2nd. I don't think Tebow will still be around at that point, and I'm also unclear why Pete Carroll is looking at Tebow; Tebow doesn't seem to be his kind of "classic" QB.

Let's keep an eye on the wild card: The Patriots have 3 2nd-round picks, and I am coming around to my original theory that dates back at least a year, if not further: The Patriots will end up drafting Tebow.

The only question is whether Belichick is willing to trade up closer to the top of the 2nd round, because that's where I predict he goes -- I don't think he lasts past the Bills. (The Jaguars have no 2nd-round pick, but could certainly trade up.)

  1. Not a Redskins fan (actually Bears fan) but I live in the DC Metro area. I keeping thinking he might end up in Washington

    WaPo has poll up. Months ago 68 Percent said no Tebow. Today (at least this morning) it was 51 percent.

  2. I hope the Bills don't pick him. Chan Gailey has zero offensive imagination. I went to Georgia Tech, where he was the head coach for several years. He had absolutely no guts and played everything safe and middle of the road. You can't do that in the NFL and win a championship, especially not with Tebow. I truly believe the Patriots are the best fit.

  3. I think if other teams were smart they would take Tebow just to prevent Belichick from gwetting him. Beli could could use Tebow and Brady together like Meyer did with Tebow and Leak and run over the NFL for years to come.

  4. I wonder if it means anything that both Seattle & Cleveland just signed QBs for 2 years-the same amount of time that most analysts are saying it will take Tebow to become a starter.

  6. Tim Tebow faced and beat these #1 draft picks NFL quarterbacks in college namely: Jamarcus Russel, Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford(projected top NFL 2010 draft pick).
    If these quarterbacks are good enough to play in the NFL, Tim Tebow is more than good enough to be an NFL quarterback and the team that drafts him will be lucky to get him.

  7. Mike Holmgren is a QB guru. Farvre and Hasselbeck for example. He could preen your grandma into an NFL starter PLUS Mangini and Belichick absolutely hate each other and there is where you might see a collegiate style "I'll recruit you to keep you away from my opponent" type action.
