Senior Bowl Tebow: Sick, But Better

The big news from Day 2 of the Senior Bowl workouts was that Tim Tebow is battling strep throat and had a 103-degree fever last night. Still went out there today and had a good -- not great -- day: Hit a couple long passes, avoided a couple of near-INTs and bobbled one snap. Other than that, the discussion mainly centered on him being talked about on The View.

  1. I didn't even know Tebow was sick-it sounds bad. Some of his detractors will probably suggest he's just faking it as an excuse for his fumbling yesterday.
I also hadn't heard that The View b*tches were talking about Tebow, but I'm guessing it was more about his anti-abortion ad than about him. That was so predictable I even mentioned it in my comment to a post of Dan's last week. Hell, Joy Behar will probably devote an at least one ep of her cable show to ranting about it.

  2. I saw in Twitter he has 103.5? I mean that's Iv and siriously sick situation. And Strep is contagious. The View is the worst show to watch. I'm a girl and I cannot stand those abnoxious cackles. What TT has to say about his views is so controversial to them BUT! what Tiger Woods mistresses have to say is worth talking about in that show.

  6. Just saw this posted on Twitter:

Jack Del Rio's first thoughts on Tebow:

"I thought the uniform fit well. The helmet was outstanding."

All I can say is WOW! Was that a dig to Tim or what?? Honestly, would you really want him going to the Jags with Del Rio making a comment like that? You want him with a coach who is going to believe in him. Kinda think that was in poor taste. Dan, would love your thoughts on this...

  7. The Jags would take him becasue of "MONEY" filling in seats they wouldnt take TT as their prized possesion. I hope he goes to a team like he sai that would "fall in love with him" and if that means Buffalo or Washington then let it be. He needs to show what his God given gifts are.

  8. If JdR meant that as it seems-as an insult-it continues the record of non-winners (& non-QBs) who don't think highly of Tebow. During JdR's time as Jax head coach, the highest they've finished is 2nd in the AFC South & their record is 57-55 (.509). Contrast that w/the great record of Belichick, who's crazy about Tebow & wanted to draft him last year.

Again, winners & great QBs tend to like Tebow, losers & non-QBs tend to not like him.

  9. Brooke, thanks for those points, never thought of it that way.

I would just hate it if the Jags draft Tebow, only because the GM overrules the head coach as far as decision making, and then have him be on a team where the coach can't stand him and he's miserable and that passion that he's always had starts to fade.

  10. I completely agree, Christy. I keep hoping he'll find his way to someone like Belichick.

Also, in all fairness to JdR, judging what he said about Tebow depends on what time during the practice he said that. If he said that only minutes into practice, then it takes on a different meaning: he hadn't seen enough by which to judge Tebow, so was giving a sarcastic answer. I hope that's the case.

  11. Brooke- I am pretty sure he made that comment tonight after practice was well over, they have multiple press conferences with various people every night, he was one of them- so obviously he wasn't impressed. he also said that he had met Tim once before, but they had not talked this week at all.

  12. Thanks for clearing that up. That was definitely a dis.

Btw, TT was interviewed on the NFL Network's Path to the Draft show tonight. If anyone missed it, it repeats sometime late-night/early morning.

  13. I saw that too Brooke- got NFL Network this week and it's so worth it, $5 a month along with other channels, can't beat that for all the TT coverage that are doing.

  14. I saw that. By the way one commentator said... "he has to talk about TT or he might just get fired" he was being sarcastic. But I'm sure they tell every sports network out there to talk about him. Well because masses are very curious about TT

  15. OK, I've read more of what JDR said about TT. Apparently, it wasn't a diss of Tim, he was simply being sarcastic b/c he can't say anything yet. Here's some more of what JDR said:

I'm glad to hear that a friend of Urban's wasn't insulting TT.
