For Tebow, A New Era Begins Now

Anyone else wake up this morning a little bummed out over the end of the Tebow Era at Florida? Yes, we knew it was coming. Yes, it ended on a wonderful note. But this is it: It's over. Next page.

It has been wonderful to dovetail covering Tebow with covering the Gators, my favorite team. But now, Florida moves on, Tebow moves on... and so does

Starting now, the focus of the blog is on the future for Tim Tebow: Primarily, that involves his status leading up to the NFL Draft in April. But it will also focus on Tebow the Brand -- the endorsement and marketing opportunities that he will have, earning him a lot of money.

(Ben Volin tweeted this morning that he saw Tebow in an ad for Tobacco Free Florida, suggesting that ad started Tebow's "pro" career as an endorser. I believe that ad was released in the early fall.)

Anyway, today is for relaxing and recharging. Tomorrow, the next stage of the Tebow Era begins in earnest.

  1. Tebow the brand will be huge. I think it'll be interesting which projects he chooses to associate with.

alos, with the Tiger scandal, advertisers will be queing up for someone as clean cut as Tim.

Lastly, so glad to read that you are continuing with the blog. I love reading it, i must check it 10 times a day to make sure there hasn't been a sneaky update. Thanks for all your hard work

  2. I am very bummed. This site has been a staple for me. It's my go to site and I check it many times throughout the day. Glad to see it's not going anywhere.

I can't wait to see what Timmy's future brings. I will happily follow him and his career.
Thanks for all you do Dan. If you ever need an assistant, I'd happily cover Timmy for you!!!

  3. It is great that you will continue blogging about Tim Tebow. I have to say, this blog is the first thing I check when I open my computer and log on to the web. As much as I feel sad that Tim will be leaving Florida, I am also very happy for him embarking on the next journey...the NFL.I predict many companies /advertisers falling in line to get Tim to endorse their products and the money(millions) he will earn will for sure benefit many charitable causes.I hope he will be drafted by the team that will use his skill and talents to its optimum level.I would love for him to join Percy Harvin with the Vikings or be coached by Bellichick of the Patriots. Good luck to Timmy,I have no doubt he will succeed in the NFL, and whatever endeavor he will pursue later. May the Lord, protect and guide him always.

  4. The Tobacco Free Florida ads have been running all season Major Wright is in one. I assume nobody got paid.

  5. Today, I went to the Dolphins-Steelers game, and as first Henne, then Pat White went out with injuries (and Pennington has been out for quite a while), I couldn't help thinking how nice it would be if Tebow was playing for the Fish! I know it's not likely to happen, but still. . .

  6. Thanks for the great work and perspective! Your experiment is also interesting from the reader point of view and it will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out over the next few years...his career and your blog.

Thanks again and GO GATORS! GO TEBOW!
