Tebow Heisman Watch: 5th Place

Tim Tebow finished in 5th place in the 2009 Heisman vote. He earned 43 1st-place votes. He appeared on 26 percent of ballots -- either 1st, 2nd or 3rd. He finished in 5th place in 5 out of 6 regions, even the Southeast. In the Mid-Atlantic region, he finished 6th.

  1. One thing that I think has been lost in this whole Tebow saga this year is how here Tebow stayed for another year and everyone.. in Florida and out seems like they were ready for him to go.. Why would anyone who is really popular in college football even want to stay.

It's also interesting how colt Mccoy has both suffered and prospered by Tebow's presence. On one hand McCoy missed out on a lot of attention because of Tebow's presence.. but he also benefited in that people seemed to root for him as the second best Qb not unlike Phil Mickelson in golf.

I wonder if McCoy would have been the hated one like Tebow if Tebow wasn't there? I just find it really fascinating how short the shelf life is on college players amongst college football fans. I do think we are right on the cusp of seeing this overload of media hurting a guy like Tebow change though.

I think it won't be long where our way of consuming media changes. I think people will have more of a choice of how they get their news in the coming years.
