Tebow Injury: "Did I Hold Onto The Ball?"

"He asked me 'Did I hold onto the ball?' I told him he did and he winked at me and said 'It's great to be a Gator.'"

-- Urban Meyer, on what Tim Tebow asked him after the hit that gave him an injury, knocking him out of the game with a concussion.

Let's hope there is a lot of season left for Tim Tebow, with a lot of quotes to come. But this feels like the leader for the Tebow Quote of the Year.

  1. The more I analyze the events that lead to Tebow taking the hit the more I think Tebow just didn't respect Kentucky's defenders enough to worry about them putting a hard hit on him in that play. If not for the fluke circumstances of that hit, it's doubtful Tebow even feels it considering the guy who hit him was a lightweight by SEC defense standards.

What I mean is that if it was LSU or Alabama or anyone with a dangerous defense Tebow likely doesn't put himself in position to take that hit and the fluke occurrence doesn't happen.

The reason I believe this, is because supposedly the play that was called did not require Tebow to stay in the pocket AND Tebow knew there would be a defender coming from that direction unblocked, according to one of the Pouncey twins.

I think Tebow only stood in the pocket risking that hit out of a lack of respect for Kentucky's D -- and rightfully so, if not for a fluke knee from his own player.

  2. Thank you for taking the time to publish this information very useful!
